Rods are generally supplied for those brazing alloys used in the service industries, where on-site maintenance and repairs are performed.

Due to this, some alloys are more common that others in rod form, although most alloys can be supplied as rods if desired.  An example is the BCuP brazing alloy family used in HVAC/R industries.  Bronze brazing alloys and Nickel Silver brazing alloys are also commonly supplied in rod form for the rock drilling and mining industries.
